About Discover the Outdoors
Discover the Outdoors is our little campfire on the internet, a cozy spot to share stories, tips and inspiration from the trail.
Sharing our outdoor adventures really kicked off in 2013, when Rob and I tackled our first long-distance cycle tour, following the Mississippi River from its headwaters to New Orleans. We started blogging as a way to keep in touch with family and friends, and to share the journey. That spirit of storytelling continues today through Discover the Outdoors.
These days, we live in beautiful British Columbia, Canada, where we spend as much time as we can hiking, paddling, backpacking, snowshoeing, skiing — and occasionally getting lost (on purpose or not). Whether we’re exploring coastal forests, alpine lakes, far-off lands, or mossy local trails, we’re always chasing that feeling of wonder that only nature and adventure can bring.
We are not experts, influencers, or hardcore survivalists, just regular humans who believe the outdoors is for everyone. If you love the smell of pine needles, a good sunrise, or the quiet crunch of boots on a forest path, you’ll feel right at home here.
Subscribe and join us around the virtual campfire.
Let’s explore, get muddy, learn new things, and fall a little more in love with the world outside.
